Skills & Activities
Here are some of the activities that you can take part in at Dauphin Bible Camp.
Horsemanship: To teach the theory and practical aspects of riding. The theory encompasses the safety aspect of riding, parts of a horse, saddle and bridle. Riding teaches basic skills of balance and control. Tests are written to test the memory and skills of the camper.
BMX: The purpose of BMX is to understand how to properly ride a BMX bike on flat land as well as over jumps while understanding all the safety precautions that need to be taken while riding. Riders will also learn different parts of the bike.
Archery: To teach basic skills in handling and shooting a bow, as well as safety rules. Campers are taught the parts of a bow and arrow.
Riflery: To teach the basic skills in handling and shooting a pellet gun, as well as safety rules. The camper learns proper shooting procedures, and the different parts if the pellet gun.
Swimming: To have fun in the pool and cool off on a hot day. The campers learn safety rules to help them be watchful as they enjoy the water.
Nature Lore: The purpose of Nature Lore is to share a love of God’s creation with the campers and to teach them how they can interact with it and enjoy it in different and fun ways.
Journalism: The purpose of journalism is to encourage the camper’s ideas and imaginative abilities while developing online articles that relate to the camp and the people within the camp each week. The focus of this skill is to develop skills in writing as well as develop skills in creativity.
Drama: The purpose of drama is to introduce the campers to what drama really is, the basics of acting and performance. Drama is used to teach campers to use different facial expressions for different scenarios they are in, and different ways of conveying a message to an audience.
Golfing
Sports: To promote physical fitness and enjoy recreational fun. The campers also learn good sportsmanship, how to follow rules, and to function as a team.
Card Making: The purpose of card making is to encourage the camper’s creative gifts and imaginative abilities. The focus of this skill is to develop these gifts and abilities to create something with their hands that they can use and enjoy.
Crafts (Part of Special Needs Camp): The purpose of ctafts is to encourage the camper’s creative imaginative abilities. The focus for crafts is to develop these abilities to create something fun with their hands that they can enjoy. Like paper plate masks, and bird popcorn shakers.
Camp Fires: Camp fires are a time when the whole camp can get together and spend time worshiping God and singing silly songs! You can yell and scream and have a good time around the fire pit.
Chapels: Chapel is a time in which campers and staff worship God together through music. Then after worship there is a spearker, who teaches the camper's a lesson from the Bible.
