Camp Director - The Bankerts PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Bankert 2010Hey we are Richard and Carma Bankert and have been the Camp Director's are Dauphin Bible Camp since January of 2006. We have a little girl named Brooklynn and a boy named Braeden.

I (Richard) grew up going to Hilbre Bible Camp (now Eagle Bay) in the Manitoba Interlake and sorta lived at the camp as my best friend was the Camp Directors son. It was also at Hilbre where I was a cabin leader, canoe instructor, and my love of summer camp really took hold.

After high school I took a year of electrical at Red River College in Winnipeg.

I then moved over to work at Elim Lodge just outside of Peterborough Ontario. I was able to work with no real title and filled the roles of host, program leader, maintenance, and more.

Leaving Elim Lodge I enrolled at Briercrest College and Seminary and would graduate in 2006 with my B.A. in Christian Ministry. During that time I also spent a summer as the Maintenance Director at Valley View Bible Camp and two summers as the Seasonal Camp Director at Midway Bible Camp.

Carma grew up attending the Dauphin Bible Camp and spent one summer as the Program Director at Valley View Bible Camp. We were married in 2004 and have been directing together ever since.

We live right at the Dauphin Bible Camp year round so feel free to stop in and have a coffee!

Andrew Sevigny

Hey, I am Andrew and I am currently interning at the camp and I am the program director during the summer.  I spend my time in the off season recruiting staff and campers, doing follow-up ministry, and creating a more dynamic program for the summer.

I am going into my 9th year of camp this coming summer.  This will be my 2nd summer working as the program director at Dauphin Bible Camp.  Previous to Dauphin I spent 7 years working at Valley View Bible Camp.  My summer camp experience started off as being a camper at Carberry Bible Camp and my staff experience started at Valley View as I spent my first summer in the kitchen helping to serve food and assist in kitchen duties, this was the summer that my love for camp began.  The next year I worked under the guidance of Richard Bankert (the current DBC director) on maintenance, followed by one more year of maintenance duties.  When I was 18 I spent my summer as a cabin leader.  The three summers after I was the male program director at Valley View.

I graduated from Carberry Collegiate Institute in 2005, where I received a diploma of distinction and also held numerous positions on student council, including President and Treasurer.

In April 2010 I graduate with my B.A. In Youth Leadership from Providence College.  This is a place where I have learned to understand how to most effectively minister to youth.
