We have often been asked what exactly Diakonos means. Here is a definition of Diakonos for you. First Diakonos is a Greek word (διάκονος) which when translated means deacon (and deaconess). Diakonos is a standard ancient Greek word meaning "servant", "waiting-man," "minister" or "messenger." The feeling that we were wanting for Camp Diakonos was a camp where one could come and experience camp in a whole new way while learning and serving together. Camp Diakonos is our new servant discipleship camp designed to match campers one on one with a staff member. Campers ages 15+ will learn how to work in a support role at camp as they are
